About Harts of Church Street

HARTS was formed in 1995 by Paul Hart.

Paul served a lengthy career apprenticeship prior to opening his own restaurant, 23 years in fact, the latter part spent with Brittania Hotels Ltd, as group development chef, including the now famous Adelphi Hotel, and teaching catering students at three local colleges, Bolton, Wigan and Leigh.

The feel that Paul wanted to created was one of a busy French restaurant similar to ones found in the Latin quarter of Paris, but with a value for money, mix of cuisine with influences collected from chefs and restaurants around the world.

HARTS began life as a derelict betting shop and the restaurants appearance remains old fashioned and is deliberately basic. Paul wants customers to be impressed by the food not gimmicky decor.

HARTS has become popular with visitors to the town and locals alike, attracting customers from as far as London thanks to a television program called Dining out, in which Paul and the restaurant featured and was shown in both the North west and London Areas.

The layout is cosy and friendly, and lends itself to cater for small functions and weddings in a truly unique catering style with that added personal touch.

Paul prefers to design every function menu to suit clients needs on an individual basis, rather than the usual, menu A, menu B, etc, basis.

The restaurant itself serves up a truly international menu drawing inspiration from many different regions of the world yet remaining rooted to the local preferences with some detailed touches.
